Tairawhiti (East Cape) Manuka Oil is a complex mixture of some 120 natural compounds.

We have found many of the benefits this oil has to offer but we are sure their are many more as yet unknown. The Research we have conducted to date has focussed on the antibacterial and antifungal effect of the Oil and this is the most documented. Practical use and anecdotal reports show that formulations containing this Manuka Oil can be very effective against foot problems such as athletes foot, foot odour, cracked heels and nail bed infections.

Use of Manuka oil as a topical spot treatment, together with a regularly used Manuka Oil soap or face lotion/cleanser can be very beneficial in the control of teenage or adult onset acne. br We have had reported success in the treatment of thrush with Manuka Oil formulations and also from bacterial infections such as impetigo.

These effects are all consistent with the results of the laboratory tests which showed that strains of staphyloccocus (including MRSA-methycillin resistant SA), streptococcus bacteria and fungii such as trichophyton mentagrophytes and microsporum canis are very susceptible to Tairawhiti Manuka Oil, as was the yeast Candida Albicans.

Letters and reports that we receive show that Tairawhiti Manuka Oil can also be an effective antihistamine - rapidly removing the itchiness, irritation and sting from insect bites, stings and from skin reactions due to contact with stinging plants such as nettle.
